The UK-based International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society has appointed a new president. Dr Oscar Gershanik, who is a specialist in neurology, will lead the organisation until 2017.
Dr Gershanik is professor of neurology and director of the Institute of Neuroscience at the Favaloro Foundation University Hospital in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he also resides. He is also director of the laboratory of experimental Parkinsonism at the Institute of Pharmacological Research Buenos Aires.
The International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society (MDS) was founded in 1985 and is for clinicians, scientists, and other healthcare professionals interested in Parkinson’s disease and other related neurodegenerative and movement disorders.
