Chinese technology enterprise Tencent has partnered with UK healthcare company Medopad and the Centre of Excellence in Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders at Kings College Hospital, UK, to create artificial intelligence (AI) software that may be able to diagnose Parkinson’s in less than three minutes.
The team trained the AI system by analysing video footage of people with Parkinson’s, and believes it will help doctors identify and diagnose the condition at a far earlier stage.
In addition, it is hoped the test could be carried out remotely using smartphone technology.
