Entries for the Mervyn Peake creativity awards are open ’til the end of March – enter now for your chance to have your artwork exhibited in London

Research has shown that people with Parkinson’s may be more creative – and if you’ve got artistic talent, now’s the time to share it with the world, for a chance to gain international recognition.

The Mervyn Peake Awards, now in their 15th year, recognise the creativity of people living with Parkinson’s. Launched in 2002, in memory of the late Mervyn Peake (1911–1968) a renowned English artist and writer who had Parkinson’s.

Last year there were 306 entries from 214 people – Parkinson’s UK said: “the level of talent and effort was extremely high.”

The winners and other selected entries of the 2016 Awards will be showcased at an exhibition organised by charity Parkinson’s UK in London this summer.

There are five award categories:

  • Art
  • Photography
  • Poetry
  • Books
  • ‘Inspire’- the multimedia category*

*Short films or music may be entered in this category only.

You can submit work into all five categories, but may only submit one entry per category.

Entries are open for the duration of March 2016, and can only be accepted from the UK. Work submitted outside March – or work without an entry form – won’t be accepted.
